Glendale-Hyperion Viaduct, general view from hill downstream showing trees in foreground. The Glendale-Hyperion Viaduct and bridge is 56 ft-wide, 1,340 feet long and features a series of thirteen concrete arches. Designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1976, the bridge was designed by Merrill Butler who was the city's chief bridge engineer during the 1920s and was responsible for construction of most of the city's historic bridges still standing. |
