Alameda Street from north of Apablasa Street, looking southeast, showing Chinatown before construction of Union Station. City engineers took these historic photos before approximately 3,000 residents were evicted in 1937. Twenty-five blocks were razed in 1938 to allow construction of railroad tracks for the new passenger terminal. |
